Fall 2008 Registration:

Our Fall concert will be an "Italian Christmas Celebration". The program will feature the Vivaldi Gloria, Pergolesi, Respighi and others. The cost of music is currently TBD.

We rehearse every Tuesday night, 7:30pm-9:30pm in the sanctuary of  Binkley Baptist Church in Chapel Hill, NC.  Registration for the new semester and our first rehearsal is Tuesday, August 26.  Registration payments, music distribution, etc. begin at 6:45pm. Registration fees may be paid at either the first or second rehearsal. Please make checks payable to CHCC. Please come early!

Registration for returning members will be from April 1 through April 30. Returning members are those who are in the chorus now, or were members during the Fall 2008 semester. NOTE: Returning members who register by the deadline of May 1, 2008, will be accepted without audition. Returning members who fail to register by the deadline may be required to audition and may not be guaranteed a spot in the Fall 2008 chorus.

Registration for new members will begin on May 1, 2008, and continue through August 15, 2008. New members will be asked to schedule an audition with the conductor on the evenings of August 19-20 and will be considered only for voice sections that have openings. Please contact the membership chair to schedule an audition.

Summer 2008 Registration:

Our Summer chorus is a wonderfully informal affair. In addition to many regular CHCC singers, we welcome folks who have never sung, or not in years, and want to "get their feet wet".   A simple voice placement with the conductor is all that is required for membership. 

This summer we are singing a musical culinary tour of pieces about food. We will have eight weeks of rehearsals and two performances: a private performance at 7:30pm, July 17 at the Carol Woods Retirement Community, and a public performance at 8pm, July 18, 2008 at the University United Methodist Church. Rehearsals will be held in UNC's Hill Hall, Room 103, 7:30pm-9:30pm on May 27, June 3, 10, 17, 24, July 5 (Sat., 10am-noon), and July 8. The rehearsal on July 15 (7:30pm-9:30pm) will be held at the University United Methodist Church.  

Online registrations will be accepted from May 1 through May 20. Singers can also walk in to register at the first rehearsal on May 27.  If registering at the first rehearsal, please arrive by 6:45pm.  Summer dues include a chorus t-shirt.   The cost of music is $16.

Dues and Costs:

The registration fee for any one chorus is $50, and for any additional chorus the dues are an additional $10. Therefore, registration in only the Symphonic Chrous, or only the Summer Chorus will cost $50.  If you are in the Symphonic chorus as well as Cantari, or the Symphonic chorus and the Summer chorus, the total dues will be $60.  In all cases, the cost of music, which varies each semester, is added to the dues.  We want you to be able to sing with us without feeling a financial burden. If you need financial aid, please indicate that need on the registration form. The membership chair will contact you with instructions and the Financial Aid application form.
