Vancouver Visions:
Music by Stephen Chatman

Vancouver’s most distinguished composer, Stephen Chatman, joins us for the US premiere of his “Magnificat,” featuring texts in Latin plus the six official languages of the  Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics, and “Earth Songs,” a choral-orchestral work inspired by the universal spirit and beauty of our natural world. The musical variety in this Chatman compositional showcase is sure to amaze and delight you!

CONCERT – Saturday, May 19, 8 pm,
Memorial Hall, Chapel Hill

Stairway to Heaven Music includes: Faure REQUIEM, and song arrangements by Moses Hogan, George Gershwin, and Irving Berlin. A guest harp ensemble will perform on the program.

CONCERT – Friday, July 19, 7:30 p.m. at University United Methodist Church



Cantari Concerts

Songs from the Pacific Northwest
Celebrate the music of three outstanding composers who call the Pacific Northwest home – Stephen Chatman, John Muehleisen, and Joan Szymko.  Train rides, summer storms, magical machines, and carrots inspire these composers. Guest composer Stephen Chatman and saxophonist Matt McClure join us for this adventurous and amusing program.
