2008 Concerts for the Chapel Hill Community Chorus

Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana
CHCC Symphonic Chorus
One of choral music’s most uproarious and powerful works, CHCC Symphonic will be joined by guest soloists, orchestra and the North Carolina Boys Choir for this not-to-be-missed performance!  [poster]

The Earth Is Not Our Own
CHCC Cantari
From the beauty of nature and the creatures that inhabit the earth, we draw inspiration for this concert. Meet thrushes, crickets, tigers, swans, and even mosquitoes in this charming program. Featured work: Benjamin Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb

Sunday, April 20, 2008, 4 p.m., First Presbyterian Church, Henderson
Saturday, April 26, 2008, 7:30 p.m., University United Methodist Church, Chapel Hill

La Bonne Cuisine
CHCC Summer Chorus
This summer we offer a musical culinary tour of pieces about food, including "If Music be the Food of Love",  Rutter's "Banquet Fugue", "Food Glorious Food" from Oliver, and many others.   Hear local favorite guest soprano Florence Peacock sing Leonard Bernstein's "Four Recipes"!

July 18, 2008, 8pm, at the University United Methodist Church
